who is a gentleman?
what is a gentleman?
it does not mean gentle man.
it is someone who hides behind a mask
a mask of polite nothingness,
a mask of toy soldier chivalry,
a mask that makes a woman hopeful
that he is not like the rest.
hope springs eternal that this is the one,
one worthy of love.
like a ghost from a bygone era
or a lost thought of a dream
he brings hope.
it is a false hope.
it means nothing.
the mask only hides the true intentions
to take your heart
and to leave you without it.

I’d say you’ve found true love when that ‘gentleman’ will go to the store to get you the feminine products you need without a complaint or protest. Let me know when you find him. I’ve been married 20 years and my husband still complains but he’ll do it. I guess that’s love.

I’ve found the best way to get a gentleman’s intentions and attitude is through his stomach. Sure, it’s an old saying about the way to a man’s heart, but it’s true.
For example, if you’re not such a great cook a true gentleman wouldn’t make you feel bad about it but a ‘tool’ would. If you’re a good cook, try burning something or seasoning it incorrectly as a test. You’ll see the true colors soon enough.

And, goat lady, I agree. my uncle and his wife just had their 20th anniversary and he’s always doing stuff for her. My parents were divorced when I was 8 though and I don’t have good memories from those years.
